Cesenatico

Cesenatico is a port town with about 20,000 inhabitants on the Adriatic coast of Italy.

Cesenatico's port canal was surveyed and drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in the 1500 at the request of Cesare Borgia, as part of his plans to fortify the nearby town of Cesena.

Along the
Porto Canale an interesting attraction is the Museo della Marineria, a floating museum  unique in Italy, where in display are historic fishing boats.  
Around the Harbor  (il Porto) is where the
Old Town (Centro Storico) hosts the typical low houses of the fisherman where you will find the “Conserve”  the historic ice rooms used for the preservation of the fish either with snow or ice.

Today Cesenatico together with being of historical meaning for the Adriatic marine is a popular
